2011

October 28th - 29th

What an idyllic location for a relaxing vacation. Exactly what we both needed to unwind. This was our first B&B; I fear that we have been spoiled. Thank you for a memorable experience - we both enjoyed it. Saw a deer (complete w/antlers) and a bobcat!

We had a very lovely stay. Jack and Sandy are the best hosts. The breakfasts were fantastic best we've had in Bed & Breakfast Inn's. You can't ask for a more beautiful patio we were lucky to have 80 degree weather to enjoy our breakfasts outside. Looking forward to staying here again. Many thanks.

Our first impression was "this is lovely"> On our last day after finishing Ginny's Frittata is now THis was Fantastic! We repeat - the spa was great, the bed, the windows, the view, the light & the quiet were exact ely what we needed to celebrate our anniversary. Our friends Kathy & Alan recommended you and we will do the same . . . Hope you will still have open time when we next want to visit. Maybe when the Elephant Seals are birthing.Go riding with Mike at Outback Trails till the end of Oct! Thank you!!

September 16th - 17th

We've had a wonderful stay here @ the pines. Upon arrival we were greeted by a family of deer, a mama deer and her 2 fawns (which we continued to see daily). The place was very charming and very well maintained. The pancakes were fantastic. We enjoyed the Jacuzzi and the peaceful water feature. We slept like babies in the big comfy bed (the pillows are heavenly) We recommend the Sow's Ear for dinner on Main St. and Hearst Castle was only a 12 minute drive. Jack, Thank you, we really had a lovely time here. Your place is very clean and beautiful. We will definitely return.

Such a wonderfully relaxing getaway for our first wedding anniversary - this really is a beautiful setting and the peacefulness really helps you focus on what's important - spending time with those you love. Dear Jack & Sandy - Thank you so much for your hospitality. THis was our first time staying in the area - and what an introduction! Your place is beautiful and we loved the privacy. Everything about the place is so neat and clean and comfortable. We loved the breakfasts - especially the scones & bacon. We'll deficiently recommend your place to others. The spa surrounded by the beautiful gardens was a big hit with us too! Loved the frogs singing to us. We saw a deer in the driveway our first night & unless I was having a strange dream I could swear I heard a cow mooing last night! Dear Jack & Sandy - Another year, and another fabulous stay at Whispering Pines. We love the 'Ginny's' Frittata so much, we had it everyday of our stay. It was wonderful to sit in the hot tub lookin up at the stars, with the frogs calling around us. Seeing the bobcat in the backyard was a very cool experience. We really enjoyed our stay here. This is just a beautiful place with thoughtful amenites. Our family loved the jacuzzi. Waking up tonangorgeous sunrise is something you can't get on Moonstone Beach. Thank you very much for making our family feel welcome.

My wife and I come to Cambria every January. Her birthday and the anniversary of or firs date both fall around the third week of the month and so [?] being a nice, fresh, relaxing start to the New Year and a rest from the [??] of the holidays it's also a celebration. It's become one of our rituals. There are always some constants in our [?] picnic lunch at Leffingwell's Landing overlooking the [??] walking miles over bluffs and beaches and dinner at the Black Cat where we struck a chord with the owner's cooking. What's different is how we do it. We've stayed on Moonstone and in town, but we don't care much for the [??]of some places or the forced socialbility of bed & breakfst inns when what we/re trying to do is creep away for some private time together. After a long day of sitting on rockswatching the tides come in and our and listening to the [???] of the surf, we need so more than to kick our shoes off, put on some music and open a nice bottle of wine. Found it! Thanks Jack, it's been the ideal place for [?] weekend.

We had a wonderful stay at Whispering Pines and enjoyed the Cambria & San Simeon area. We toured the beautiful grounds and rooms at Hearst Castle, took day hikes to the light house & the bluffs. We saw the elephant seals and their new born pups along the way on various beaches. We also had an opportunity to enjoy the night life at Robin;s and Linn's two wonderful restaurants. The margaritas & mexican food along with the live band at Las Cambritas. Great days & great times we will be back.

Today we watched a young buck through our bedroom window grooming himself for 10 minutes highlighted by a shaft of sunlight. Two days ago a parade of quail just above the back porch welcomed us the first morning of our stay. We cherished the seclusion here, the quiet, as well as the great breakfasts and warm hospitality. And as always with an experience that is already great, meeting good (lovely) people makes if better.
